The new machine
I bought a new bike!
It's a 1997 Triumph Daytona T595 in yellow.
The bike is in excellent condition and has a new back tyre and a new chain. It's also just been serviced, so nothing needs to be spent. Apparently this model is fairly reliable, but we'll have to wait and see if this proves to be the case.
I decided to buy it for a number of reasons, not least because I need to be able to go for a ride occasionally. It's also a triple (3 cylinder motor) and I've never owned a triple before.
Another reason for buying this bike is that it's a British bike and I'm in Britain. It's also a very capable bike for when I want to do a track day but is more comfortable that some of the other hyper-sports bikes as it has more of a road focus.
From my perspective it's a pretty good compromise as I can commute and still take it to the race track. :-)
I'm looking forward to going to see some motorcycle races now.
