Painted Perfection

Well, the house is finally painted. After 7 years of thinking that I'd like a colour other than white, we've finally payed someone else to do it. I'll get to enjoy my chosen colours for the next few weeks before we move out but I hope the new tenants will love it as much as I do. Now, if only the smell would go away...

So the VISA application is finally in after weeks of agonising over it. Now we play the waiting game. A special thank you must go to Suzanne who has willingly offered her lounge room floor in London for the first few weeks of our stay.

Still, preparations must continue. I've been busy ticking things off my list of things to do. There are still lots of things to get through but at least I feel like we're organised. Now I just need to get organised at work as well. It's hard to believe that I have to leave. It's all so warm and safe at IML. I'm not sure I'll ever find the same level of love and support from any other work place. Good thing I'm only taking leave without pay - only 12 months and then I get to go back ;-).

9 and a half weeks

I've finally acknowledged that we're leaving and going to live on the other side of the world. I thought if I didn't think about it it would go away, but instead it just got closer and closer. Time is sneaky like that.

I can't decide if I'm scared or excited. Maybe both. There are so many things to organise. The list is as long as my arm - Visa, house painting, storage, accommodation, jobs, etc... At least it will keep me occupied. Nine and a half weeks and counting!!
